Reaction Time Test
When the box turns green, click as fast as you can. Five rounds, then your average.
Round 1 of 5
How the reaction test works
Each round the box waits a random 1.5 to 4 seconds before turning green, so you cannot predict the moment. Click early and the round restarts. After five valid rounds you get your average and best time in milliseconds. The average human visual reaction time is around 250 ms; elite gamers and athletes get close to 150-200 ms. Results include your screen's input latency, so compare scores on the same device for fairness.
Reaction time FAQ
What is a good reaction time?
The median human visual reaction time is roughly 250 ms. Under 220 ms is quick, under 200 ms is excellent, and consistent times under 180 ms put you at a competitive esports level. Times above 350 ms usually mean you are tired, distracted, or on a slow display.
Why is my time different on my phone?
Touchscreens and displays add their own delay. A 60 Hz phone screen can add 20-40 ms compared to a 144 Hz desktop monitor. Compare your scores on the same device, and use the same input (mouse, trackpad, or finger) for a fair trend.
Can I improve my reaction time?
You can sharpen it a little with sleep, hydration, and practice - regular testing trims the decision overhead. The raw nerve speed is mostly fixed, but consistency improves a lot: your worst rounds get closer to your best.
