Typing Speed Test
Type the words below. The timer starts on your first keystroke.
How the typing test works
The test shows a stream of common words. Type each word and press space to move to the next one. After the timer ends you get your WPM (words per minute, counted as five correct characters per word for English and four for Thai), your raw character speed (CPM), and your accuracy. Mistakes lower your accuracy but you can keep going - consistency beats bursts. The word list is randomized every round, so memorizing is impossible and every score is honest.
Typing test FAQ
What is a good typing speed?
The average typist reaches about 40 WPM. 60-80 WPM is solidly fast and comfortable for office work, while professional typists often pass 100 WPM. For Thai, average speeds are typically lower because of vowel and tone-mark keystrokes - 30-45 WPM is a strong everyday score.
How is WPM calculated?
WPM counts correct characters, not raw words, so short and long words weigh fairly. For English one word equals 5 correct characters; for Thai we use 4 characters per word to reflect typical word length. CPM (characters per minute) is also shown if you prefer a raw measure.
Does the test support Thai keyboards?
Yes. Switch the language to Thai and the prompt becomes common Thai words, including vowels and tone marks typed in any valid order. Both Kedmanee and Pattachote layouts work since the test compares the resulting text, not the keys pressed.
Is my typing recorded or uploaded?
No. The whole test runs in your browser. Your keystrokes never leave your device, and your scores are stored only in your own browser's local storage.
